How to Use
「〜ようがない」は、物事を行う方法や手段、可能性が全くないことを表現する際に使用します。「〜方法がない」という意味を簡潔に表現できます。
「〜ようがない」(you ga nai) is used to express that there is absolutely no way or possibility to do something. It's a concise way to say "there is no way to..."
Main Uses
1. Physical Impossibility / 物理的な不可能
「橋が壊れていて渡りようがない」(はしがこわれていてわたりようがない)
"The bridge is broken, making it absolutely impossible to cross"
Used for situations where something is physically impossible
Often describes concrete obstacles or limitations
2. Circumstantial Impossibility / 状況的な不可能
「部屋があまりにも汚すぎて、片付けようがない」(へやがあまりにもきたなすぎて、かたづけようがない)
"The room is so hopelessly cluttered that cleaning it up is out of the question"
Describes situations where circumstances make something impossible
Implies the situation is beyond one's control
3. Logical Impossibility / 論理的な不可能
「今さら言い訳のしようがない」(いまさらいいわけのしようがない)
"At this point, there's no way to make excuses"
Used when something is logically or reasonably impossible
Often implies the time or opportunity has passed

動詞語幹 ＋ ようがない (Verb stem(masu-form drop masu) + you ga nai)
