How to Use

「を通して/を通じて」は、「ある期間の全体にわたって」「何かを媒介として」という意味を表現します。「を通して」は時間的継続、「を通じて」は手段や媒介を表すことが多いですが、どちらを使っても構わない場合もあります。

"o tooshite/o tsuujite" expresses "throughout a period" or "by means of/through." Although “o tooshite” frequently implies a duration of time, and “o tsuujite” usually signifies a method or medium, both can sometimes be used interchangeably.

Main Uses

1. Throughout a Time Period / 期間全体

  • 「一年を通して暖かい気候です」(いちねんをとおしてあたたかいきこうです)

  • "The climate is warm throughout the year"

  • Used to emphasize continuous nature of something
