「と言われている」は、一般的な認識や広く知られている情報を伝える際に使用します。直接的な経験や確実な事実ではなく、伝聞や社会での一般的な認識を表現するときに使います。
"To iwareteiru" is used to convey generally accepted information or widely known beliefs. It's used when expressing hearsay or common social understanding rather than direct experience or absolute fact.
This expression allows the speaker to convey information without taking personal responsibility for its accuracy - similar to "they say that..." or "it is generally believed that..." in English.
