How to Use
「代わり(に)」は、ある物事や行動の代替として別の行動をする際に使います。
"Kawari ni" is used when substituting one thing or action for another.
Main Uses
1. Direct Substitution / 直接的な置き換え
「バターの代わりにオリーブオイルを使います」(ばたーのかわりにオリーブオイルをつかいます)
"I'll use olive oil instead of butter"
Used for practical replacements in daily situations
Common in recipes and instructions
2. Alternative Actions / 代替行動
「今日は運動の代わりに掃除をしました」(きょうはうんどうのかわりにそうじをしました)
"I cleaned instead of exercising today"
